While Burgos declined to comment on the upcoming establishment, readers can expect a stiff drinks in a strong ambience such as the ones found in The Suffering Bastard, an exotic tiki concept, or the former Bitters & Brass, a divey cocktail bar.

Much like The Suffering Bastard, Death in The Afternoon references the Ernest Hemingway-created cocktail, made simply with champagne and absinthe. Whether or not the Hemingway references will end there, is yet to be determined.

Until Burgos’s newest establishment opens its doors, eager readers can sample his vision and execution at The Suffering Bastard, located at 200 South Myrtle Ave in Sanford.
