Dave’s Hot Chicken has come a long way from their initial food stand in an East Hollywood parking lot. Their Florida expansion efforts have been kicked into high gear by franchisees Scott Strahm and George Estep of Estep & Company. The partners plan to open a total of 15 units in central Florida.

We reported earlier that the group will bring a location to the Waterford Lakes Town Center. However, according to leasing data confirmed by Strahm, a new unit is planned to appear at 155 Cranes Roost Boulevard in Altamonte Springs.

They will be revamping a now shuttered World of Beer. Strahm stated that they are about to enter the permitting process, with hopes of beginning construction in April. If everything goes smoothly, Strahm aims for a “July-ish” opening. However, he emphasized that this is not a firm estimate.

Estep & Company was started by George Estep in 1990 when he decided to sell a home he owned in England to open a Subway location in Illinois. Since then, the company has grown to partnering with multiple brands to open locations across the country.

Dave’s Hot Chicken, headed by chef Dave Kopushyan, specializes in the Nashville hot chicken tradition. With the help of several friends who launched their stand in the L.A. parking lot, Kopushyan has extending the reach of hot chicken far beyond Tennessee.
