The Peruvian-native opened his flagship at the Village at Hunters Creek approximately four years ago, serving upscale staple Peruvian dishes from ceviche to lomo saltado. As noted in its namesake — mares translating from Spanish to seas — it also offers an array of fish dishes. It also offers causas, maki rolls, pastas, and vegetarian and vegan friendly options. Its new Winter Park location will be housed in the space formerly occupied by Grato Italian Kitchen.

Considered the top Peruvian restaurant in Central Florida it is committed to putting Peruvian cuisine on the map.

“Mares is a restaurant that offers culinary and cultural experience through Peruvian gastronomy,” it writes on its website. “Our goal is to ensure that Peruvian gastronomy is recognized throughout the world through our restaurants.”
