“Every time I travelled to Amsterdam; I went straight for the fries,” owner Wilson Santos said in a statement.

Wilson says that the lack of chain in the U.S. dedicated to this Dutch-style snack motivated him to spearhead his own.

“I want to offer something that is different yet affordable and fast for the student population that surrounds us. Since moving to Orlando in 2012, I’ve always lived in the neighborhood and have kept an eye on this building,” Santos said.

The Fry Shoppe will serve the Dutch-style cone fries in regular and large sizes and skin-on or crispy options, featuring over 10 different sauces and toppings.

“They are the perfect blend between a snack and a full meal. They are unique and affordable. Someone can eat them every day and they will be different each time,” Santos said.

Beyond the debut location, Santos said he has plans to expand The Fry Shoppe throughout Florida and beyond, especially eyeing airports, malls, food halls and even a food truck.
