“It’s our first standalone restaurant but we own grocery stores and this concept will be within the Thrifty Specialty Produce & Meats stores,” owner Pedro Hernandez says (Mr. Hernandez also owns the Thrifty grocery chain).

“We have the same cafe operating at our two existing stores,” Hernandez adds. “We serve Latin and Caribbean food, Dominican-based recipes along with Puerto Rican & Cuban plates.”

When asked about what offering would best impress a first-time customer, Mr. Hernandez is quick to name one in particular.

“Our roasted pork, perníl, is our signature plate.”

Hernandez is also excited to note that the brand has plans for expansion over the next few years.

“We plan on expanding through Brevard country over the next five years. We’ll hopefully open three to five restaurants.”
