GigaBites restaurant group will open a location at 1220 Hand Avenue in Ormond Beach where Paradise Cheesecakes used to sling desserts. But Ormond Beach is only one small step forward in a five-year plan to open more than 2,000 locations. Yes, two thousand.

“We want to build three stores this year, and really get the concept down,” said Owner Rick Abercrombie.

GigaBites restaurants focus on the delivery and pick up model of delicious, high-quality food from a variety of concepts. Ormond Beach residents will be able to enjoy the flavor of Dahlia Mexican Restaurant, which has locations in Daytona Beach and Flagler Beach, from home or work. BurgerTen and Rice Above will also be available options.

Other concepts the restaurant is testing for future locations include rotisserie chicken, pasta, ramen and more. Pre-packaged to-go beers and wines will be on the menu.

Abercrombie plans a second GigaBites location in Port Orange, set to tentatively open in November 2021, and a third location in Flagler Beach next to Dahlia Mexican Restaurant, which will open in March 2022.

“We have big plans for GigaBites,” he said.
