Thriving Hospitality to Debut Three Concepts Into 2024

"We realized there wasn’t much of a food scene in the immediate area and we saw an opportunity to be in that food traffic as everyone does their cocktail rounds.”

The Orlando-based restaurant group Thriving Hospitality has a full calendar of upcoming developments through 2023 and potentially even into 2024, according to owner Michael D’Esposito.

The first, Lamp & Shade, will be coming in the coming months.

“We don’t have a targeted opening date just yet,” D’Esposito tells What Now Orlando. “We’ll have soft hours during May, but there’s no actual date.”

When asked about the establishment’s location in the Mills 50 district, D’Esposito points to its walkability and popularity

“We’d been looking for a space in Mills 50. We’re attracted to it because it’s a happening area with a lot of foot traffic. We realized there wasn’t much of a food scene in the immediate area and we saw an opportunity to be in that food traffic as everyone does their cocktail rounds.”

Lamp & Shade will reportedly serve “Asian-influenced, tapas-style food and tiki-inspired cocktail,” according to a recent article in Gotta Go Orlando.

Another concept, yet unnamed, will be premiering at the much-hyped Maitland Social building, alongside Foxtail Coffee, Pizza Bruno, and Wave Sushi. There is no opening date for that just yet.

“We’ll be opening in the northwest corner of the building. I’d love to give you the name, but we are voting and don’t want to jump the gun just yet. That won’t be food, actually, we’ll be actually the supporting cocktail bar & lounge in that space. We’re extremely excited to be surrounded by those great businesses.”

And finally, D’Esposito mentions another unnamed concept to come to the Society Living building downtown.

“We’re actually opening within Society Living in downtown Orlando. They’re telling us that they’ll deliver the space to us by the end of 2023, but I’m anticipating something more in early 2024. I assume the opening will be lined up with the opening of the residential space. It’ll be a full restaurant & bar, within the lobby of the living space.”

Until the new concepts open their doors, curious readers may visit Thrive, the group’s popular eatery and bar, at 13 S Orange Ave.
