“The reason it’s called Reel Bowls is a reference to a movie reel,” owner Tony McFarr tells What Now Orlando. “I was a stuntman in the movies, Chris Pratt’s stunt double for Jurassic World 1 & 2, which were filmed in Hawaii, where poke is originally from.”
McFarr explains that the first location, while praised by customers (reaching a 4.8 rating on Google Reviews), was “not in a great location”, but that the upcoming Fenton St spot occupies a much better place in the Orlando metro area.
Fans of the original location can expect a classic offering of build-your-own poke bowls with a range of fruit, vegetable, and seafood toppings, along with signature bowls and a small selection of salads.
Barring any unforeseen factors, McFarr shares that the location will be up and running on September 1st.
