The restaurant is slated to open at 3665 East Colonial Drive, occupying the structure of a former Olive Garden. It will be the brand’s first brick-and-mortar presence in the city after having briefly operated a digital kitchen in the Dollins Food Hall.

Founded in Guatemala in 1971, Pollo Campero has since expanded to and throughout the Caribbean, the Americas, Europe, and Asia. As its name suggests, the chain centers chicken as its primary product, serving it fried, baked, and grilled alongside sides such as french fries, rice, plantains, yucca, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw.

What Now Orlando reached out to Fernando Perez, the company’s Senior Director of Operations, to inquire about this latest expansion into a key US market, but he was not immediately available for comment.

Until the newest Orlando location opens its doors, Florida readers will have to travel to Calle Ocho in Miami or Boynton Beach to experience the internationally growing chicken chain.
