Mahons Real BBQ will open a brick-and-mortar restaurant at 247 West Broad St in Groveland after starting their BBQ business in a food truck. Their food truck has attracted a large following on their Facebook page with around 2,000 likes and follows.
A plan review was filed online for the new location by owners Danny and Rebecca Mahon on August 4, 2022. Additionally, a four year lease was signed on June 28, 2022 by the small business owners.
What Now Orlando reached out to co-owner Danny Mahon for more details by phone and spoke briefly with him. According to the Facebook page, the restaurant will be open for customers as early as next week but will only offer outdoor picnic table seating. The inside of the restaurant has not been renovated with seating yet and it has not been announced when that will occur.
Mahons Real BBQ offers delicious, fresh BBQ meats and sides for a very fair price. Some of their offerings include rib sandwiches and dinners, pulled chicken, pulled pork, brisket, chicken leg quarter dinners and an all meat sampler. Some of their sides include mac & cheese, baked beans, collard greens and potato salad. Co-owner Danny Mahon prepares and smokes the meat himself and co-owner Rebecca Mahon makes the sides.
The restaurant does not currently have a website or Instagram up and running yet but they are very active on their Facebook page. Those in the Orlando area can be on the lookout for this location to open with indoor seating. For now, BBQ lovers can check out the restaurant and eat at their outdoor picnic table seating.
