French Brasserie Coming to City Food Hall

The restaurant will be run by Danilo's Pasta Bar chef DJ Tagalin and the decorated Michael Collantes.

According to recent reporting in Orlando Weekly, the upcoming City Food Hall at 1412 Alden Road will soon open Chez Les Copains, a classic French brasserie. The restaurant will be run by Danilo’s Pasta Bar chef DJ Tagalin and the decorated Michael Collantes.

While no public information yet exists on the concept’s menu and ambience, readers can confidently rely on the head chefs’ resumes. Tangalin boasts a wealth of West Coast experience, leading kitchens in at Bivouac, Paradise Point, Waterbar JRDN Restaurant at Tower23, Pacific Beach and Tidal, all in the San Diego area.

Michael earned his first Michelin star in 2022, a year after launching Soseki Modern Omakase in Orlando, FL, according to his official bio. Michael is also the chef owner of Orlando’s 2024 Michelin Bib Gourmand’s Sushi Saint a temaki and sushi omakase lounge. As well as Perla’s Pizza a cocktail pizza bar, Sushi Saint NYC, and Bar Kada sake bar.

“We create culinary communities that showcase both veteran and up-and-coming local chefs under one roof. Our goal is to offer memorable experiences while building lasting relationships with our guests, partners, and local community,” the official website of City Food Hall states.

“Our gathering spaces are an intersection where creativity, culture, and flavor come together. Offering a springboard for chefs to grow their businesses, we are a culinary destination where friends and family can spend time together sharing great food and drinks, with a side of entertainment.”

No opening dates have been announced.
