The bar will feature a small, curated food menu, which will offer Floridian seafood dishes and Cuban-inspired plates as well. Levaughn spoke with What Now on Friday about a need for a cocktail bar in the area. As a local, he hopes to see the area flourish: “[The Milk District] is the neighborhood I grew up in, and I want to see it thrive.”

Otto’s High Dive derives its name from the grandfather of Levaughn’s close friends. Otto, who owned a cocktail bar in Cuba, immigrated to Miami and established himself there. Levaughn intends for the concept to be an homage to Otto, who has since passed.

According to Levaughn, the space is under construction still, and they plan to have the doors open on April 25th. A recent plan review filed with the state is still “in process.”
