David Satterfield was a top attorney with Darden Restaurants Inc. before leaving his job to open Deadwords Brewing along with Luke Pridgeon–who he met because their daughters are on the same volleyball team.

The duo quickly hit it off and are now converting an old Army Surplus Store into a brewery that’s going to celebrate beer by using a thousand year old clay amphora fermenting process to brew.

Deadwords Brewing plans to serve both traditional pilsners, lagers, American IPAs, and what they call “abomination beers” which will veer away from the traditional and have added flavors such as  “exploding fruited cupcake”.
