And, while customers nosh on everything from genuine Mexican street tacos to carne asada to arroz con pollo in the new Casa Amigos, there will be no signs of the site’s former tenant. Aguilar said it is being completely remodeled.

“We took down walls. We put up walls. We completely changed it,” Aguilar, 33, said.

They also took out the old bar and put in a new one. There is an outdoor patio seating area that will also be equipped with a small bar, he said. Casa Amigos is known for its homemade sangria but customers will find a large selection of beers, wine and specialty drinks on the menu. And, if you’re looking for something really special, order the Michelada, made with your choice of imported beer, fresh lime juice, maggi sauce, tomato juice and a dash of black pepper.

“We want to invite everyone to come enjoy our food. It’s the same as in Port St. Lucie, same menu, same drinks. We really just want everyone to enjoy it,” Aguilar, who has been in the United States for half his life, said.

Among the most popular items are guacamole made tableside, homemade tortillas and jalapeno margaritas.
