Nicaragua-based specialty coffee shop is planning to make way into Orlando. What Now on Thursday spoke to co-owner Rebecca Blandon to get details.
Expect to find the new specialty coffee joint at 328 N Orange Ave, where it will neighbor businesses like Tacos El Ranchero, Leo’s Diner and Fratelli’s Italian.
Blandon shared that the concept was born out of her family’s coffee farm in Nicaragua, which they have tended for four generations. Altura Craft Coffee has been a common dream shared in the Blandon family, and it will serve to honor the legacy of the family patriarch, who passed away before the dream could be realized.
They will serve the coffee from their farm in Nicaragua, as a “seed to cup” concept in which they grow, harvest, import, roast and serve the coffee.
“What we want to do for Orlando is showcase our farm, and we want to teach our customers the importance of seed-to-cup. We want to make sure that they know it’s not just a cup of coffee; there’s a story behind it,” Blandon told What Now.
Currently, they are amidst construction and are planning to open in the first couple weeks of August. Keep up with their social media.
