Puerto Rican Sandwiches and Coffee Chain Expanding in Orlando

The chain hopes to reach five restaurants operating in Orlando.

El Meson Sandwiches, a Puerto Rican café serving hot grilled sandwiches, coffee and all day breakfast with vegetarian options, is plotting another restaurant in the Orlando area.

The location will be at 13870 Narcoossee Road, Unit 460, in the new Lake Nona Greenwood development on the corner of ​​Laureate Boulevard and Narcoossee Road. It will be neighboring a Tijuana Flats unit, along with Nature’s Table, according to LakeNona.com

Founded in Puerto Rico by Filipe Perez Sr. in 1972, El Meson Sandwiches opened its first American restaurant in Orlando in 2015. Since then, they have enjoyed popularity and growth. Mayor Buddy Dyer declared May 18th “Meson Sandwiches Day” at their third grand opening in 2018. 

The chain already has three locations open in the area, and according to their website, they hope to establish a total of five units. 

Owner Filipe Perez confirmed with What Now on Monday that the new location is anticipated to open on April 1st, 2022. A recent plan review filed with the city was approved with provisions in November 2021.
