There are seven other Café Don Juan locations, all in Puerto Rico, and co-owner Axel Otero expects to expand throughout central Florida. They will offer catering services and a mobile coffee bar for events.

Information released on their Facebook page announced their United States expansion.

In a phone interview on Wednesday, Otero spoke about the tradition Café Don Juan has established in Puerto Rico: “We like to serve specialty coffee… foods, sandwiches, salads, pastries, empanadas, cookies… this is what we are going to do here in Winter Park.”

Photos of their handcrafted coffees and food are available on their Instagram page.

Projected to open in February at 1100 South Orlando Avenue, it will be in City Place, a trendy marketplace recently renovated by Gerber Communities. The café will occupy one of four retail spaces, and an outdoor gathering area will be available to guests.

Café Don Juan had their ninth anniversary of business in November of 2021. They began as a single location and have since grown tremendously. Clothing, coffee and other merchandise are available on their website.
