A lease comp signed in June 2022 for the new grocery store shows that it will open in the summer of 2023. The current building on the site of Waterford Lakes Village will be demolished and a new retail center is planned to be completed in by the summer of 2023. Sprouts Farmers Market will be the anchor of this new Orlando center.

According to their official website, Sprouts Farmers Market opened their first store in 2002 and has now expanded to over 370 stores all across the United States. Sprouts Farmers Market combines “all of the very best parts of a real farmers market under one roof, open every day of the week.”

Sprouts has seen tremendous growth over the years and has acquired several different businesses like Henry’s and Sunflower Farmers Market. In 2013, “Sprouts became a a public company traded on the NASDAQ Stock Market.” In 2017, Sprouts expanded its eastern expansion into the State of Florida during its 15th year of business.

What Now Orlando reached out to senior project manager Paul Freehart, but he was not available for comment. It has not been announced when the old building will be demolished and when construction will begin for Sprouts Farmers Market. Still, Orlando residents should be on the lookout for this exciting new spot next summer if all goes to plan.
