Is there anything better than spending an afternoon with your dog at a great brewery? Well, your dog might think so. Fortunately for her, Alex Wright, Sheila Suhar, and Kevin Richardson have devised a solution guaranteed to bring both you and your pup equal shares of joy.

Pups Pub in Tampa is a place where a dog park (complete with turf, kitty pools, and doggy windows) and a sports bar have merged. At Pups Pub, dogs have their run of an indoor, outdoor off-leash bar, and you have access to an array of handcrafted ‘dogtails,’ mixed-drinks, shots, and brews, all of which come with a side of pun.

Pups Pub Tampa, located in the heart of South Tampa, has been open since December of last year. “The community has received us very well, they love their dogs and love coming to Pups Pub and we’re just trying to expand on that,” Wright, the Dogfather of Pups Pub, told What Now Orlando. And fortunately for dog-owners and lovers in Orlando, that expansion involves you. Pups Pub Orlando is already in the permitting stage and has taken over the space at 317 N. Orange Avenue.

“What we’re really excited about with Orlando is the location. It is within walking distance to thousands of apartments,” said Wright. “I’ve lived in an apartment with my dog and you gotta walk your dog multiple times a day and sometimes apartment complexes don’t have the best spot for that…We’re hoping to provide a really fun solution for the walk you have to go on anyway every day with your dog.”

Wight says Pups Pub Orlando will only be bigger and better than the Tampa location. “It’s going to be a total new build,” said Wright. “So we’re gunna be able to design it exactly how we want…it will feel like you’re outside even when you’re inside.”

Pups Pub does require all dogs be up to date on their vaccinations and, if they are of a certain age, they need to be neutered or spayed as well. Pubs Pub even has staff on hand to make sure all pups are being their best selves and getting along well with others.

Pups Pub Orlando is on track to open in March of next year. Find the bar on Instagram for updates.
