Located next to the popular Pisces Rising in downtown, the Back Porch Pizza Bar will occupy the porch and garage area of a history home, according to owner Joshua Jungferman. They have a final state inspection before they can open their doors, but Jungferman is hoping for the end of the month or early February.

Jungferman spoke with What Now on Wednesday: “it’s going to have a pizza oven behind the bar, and we’re going to serve pizza and poke. We’re going for a unique, niche kind of pairing… I wanted to combine something that’s super healthy and fresh with also a different take on pizzas.”

The Back Porch Pizza Bar will also have a wide offering of libations, according to Jungferman: “We’re going to [have] craft cocktails, beer and a curated wine menu.”

Part of the venue will be a courtyard, and there will primarily be seating outside, along with a bar and few tables indoors.

According to Jungferman, Back Porch Pizza Bar will differentiate from Pisces Rising in that it will be more casual, probably attract a younger demographic and be open later. However, Jungferman sees this as an extension of Pisces Rising, as they will be operating beside each other.
