The City of Winter Haven Commission unanimously approved the 130-room, 81,000-square foot, extended stay, all-suites hotel, at 310 West Central Avenue, on the southwest corner of West Central Avenue and 3rd Street Southwest. Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2022 and finish at the end of July 2023.

Representing the developer was Arjun Choudhary, vice president of Onicx Group, LLC, located at 5600 Mariner St., Tampa, FL 33609. Anne Charles, director of Marketing at Onicx, said Choudhary will not be ready until mid-December to answer any questions or provide renderings for the project.

The Residence Inn should be done about the same time as the first hotel that was approved by the City Commission for downtown Winter Haven. In September, the city approved a 108-room, 75,000 square foot, six-story Staybridge Suites Hotel, which is also an all-suites hotel. It will be built on 5th Street near Gram Parsons Derry Down. All rooms will be suites and feature kitchenettes with full-size refrigerators, ice makers and stovetops.
