Island Touch, a locally-owned and operated coffee shop, will soon be making its debut in Ocoee, according to a recent filing with the State of Florida. The restaurant will be located at 1711 Amazing Way, taking up 1685 square feet of space within Unit 113 in a new commercial building.

“I think we’ll have more of a home feel,” Co-Owner Dolly Mae Carnegie tells What Now Orlando. “That’s why we called it “Island Touch”, communicating that we’ll give a more personal touch to our space, as well as integrating Caribbean and African flavors to our sandwiches.”

When asked why Dolly and her husband Creigton decided to open a coffee shop, she explains “We’ve always wanted to do something together. We’ve always loved the food industry, and we both love coffee. We figured this area could use something a little different than the chains that are already here.”

Carnegie specifies that the Island Touch will be a “specialty coffee shop” serving “Grade A coffee”, along with sandwiches, desserts, pastries and, eventually, beer and wine.

If all goes well with the permitting process, the Carnegies anticipate an opening in February or March of 2023.
