It will have a diverse menu with Tex-Mex and playful takes on Mexican street fare carefully curated by celebrity chef Roberto Treviño. And, some nights, after — or even, during — dinner patrons will be able to enjoy and dance to live entertainment to enjoy.

Kavas, which has a capacity of 400, will have indoor and outdoor dining and bar areas as well as a semi-private room for parties and meetings. The restaurant has been in the works for a long time, being held up by Covid, Katerina Kavas said.

Named after a combination of the owners’ first names, Katerina and Vassilis, Kavas Tacos + Tequila’s menu will pay tribute to Mexico’s rich culinary history, featuring savory comfort food, fresh tableside experiences and recipes hand-crafted from the freshest ingredients.

Like tequila? You will be able to sample several in their tequila flights. In the mood for something a little less potent? Kavas will also have classic margaritas and a mocktail menu.

The restaurant will be located on International Drive, nicknamed I-Drive, in Pointe Orlando, an outdoor shopping center, located next to the Orange County Convention Center.

“Katerina and Vassilis truly understand the I-Drive market and have I no doubt that Kavas Tacos + Tequila will continue along with the success that they have built on I-Drive (in their two existing restaurants, Taverna Opa and Tapa Toro) and will be a regional and local favorite for years to come,” Jimmy Layson, regional director of Prakas & Co., hospitality brokers, said.
