Designed to be fun and interactive, Descend 21 – named for the number of steps in its curved staircase entrance -offers an elevated lounge setting for connecting with friends and hosting events. The venue’s opening completes an $8 million food & beverage renovation that also includes a total redesign of Rocks lounge unveiled in January. The hotel worked with Atlanta interior design firm Blur Workshop and Chicago- based GREC Architects on the project.

“Descend 21 is an exciting addition to our hotel and Orlando’s International Drive area,” Area Vice President and General Manager Brian Comes said in a statement. “From the entertainment options and indoor-outdoor seating to shareable menu items, it provides a dynamic gathering space with the scenic backdrop of our Grotto Pool.”

Locals and hotel guests can try their hand at billiards or Topgolf Swing Suites while tuning into Descend 21’s multiple TVs for the latest sports action. Completely transformed from the previous restaurant Urban Tide, the venue is creatively designed to host private events. In addition to a centrally located bar with communal tables and lounge seating, the new layout features an expanded terrace with fire pits.

Created by Executive Sous Chef Romel Begonia, Descend 21’s menu is defined by fresh takes on popular dishes. Featured items include chicken pinchos with guava BBQ sauce, fried cauliflower tacos and a sushi bake with dynamite sauce. House made delights include key lime yuzu tart, a craft dessert flight with Raspberry Bavarian Cream, Chocolate Pot De Crème and Blueberry Lemon Cake, and Descend 21’s signature dessert – Bourbon Bread Pudding made with Descend 21 Barrel Bourbon.

“We collaborated with iconic distillery Buffalo Trace to produce our Single Barrel Bourbon,” said Director of Operations Michelle Anderson. “They were the first distillery to craft these highly sought-after bourbons and we are proud to offer the distinctive, one-of-a-kind batch curated by their Master Distiller for Descend 21.”

Cocktail aficionados are sure to enjoy Descend 21’s Old Fashioned, mixed with D21 single barrel, D21 Woodchip Blended Smoke, Orange Bitters, Brown Sugar and Amarena Cherry.

Descend 21 is open daily for lunch, dinner, drinks and late-night fare.
