“It’s not just a breakfast restaurant,” franchisee Seraina Hug tells What Now Orlando. “We have fresh-made waffles, both savory and sweet. You can choose toppings such as fresh fruit, oreo’s, kit-kat, whatever you want, along with fresh juice and coffee.”

Rare in the US food and beverage landscape, Wonder Waffel is a budding franchise in Western Europe, and has two locations already established in the US: one in Tampa, and the other in Houston.

“The original is from Berlin, where there are seven stores, along with several stores in Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium.”

When asked when the Melbourne store will be opening, Hug points to renovations and other hurdles that must be cleared before the big debut.

“We are not sure when we will open, though we hope in September.”

And can readers expect more Wonder Waffels cropping up across the country?

“I hope so,” Hug says, cautiously optimistic. “I hope our business will go well enough to expand.”
