With three locations already open in the greater Orlando area, you could say El Potro Mexican Restaurant has become a local staple. This is further highlighted by the restaurant’s expansion to a fourth location in the Belle Isle Shopping Center on S Conway Road. It will open in the space previously occupied by Cork & Fork.

Speaking with What Now Orlando, owner Pablo Garcia confirmed the expansion, noting construction began about eight months ago. The Belle Isle location has experienced slight delays in its original opening timeline; the El Potro website says September 2021 for the opening, but that might not end up being the case. “I hope by the end of this month we will have a date,” said Garcia.

For those of you who haven’t tried El Potro, allow the menu to entice you. To start, you’ll find numerous apps to choose from, like queso fundido y chorizo, Mexican chili, and hot wings. From there, El Potro offers a wide selection of tacos, like al pastor, carne asada, and carnitas, not to mention quesadillas, enchiladas, and more. Especials del El Potro like Guadalajara, Grilled Shrimp, and Chapala also grace the menu. And the list goes on.
