A taco concept will replace Indian Palace Restaurant in the Orlando restaurant space at 8530 Palm Parkway. The owner, Roberto Martinez, is a franchise owner of two Don Tortaco locations in Las Vegas. Don Roberto’s Taco Shop will reportedly open in the 2,400 square-foot space by the end of this year or early 2022. From there, the company hopes to expand.

According to the eatery’s website, Don Roberto’s will serve “Mexican food made fast, made fresh, que rico!” You can expect staples like burritos, tacos, enchiladas, and nachos.

The shop aims to bring authentic and fresh flavors to Orlando and will happily fill the void left by On the Border Grill & Cantina and Chevy’s Fresh Mex, both of which closed recently. Luis Figueroa with Gold Bridge Realty, the broker for Don Roberto’s, told Orlando Business Journal the location was inspired by the departure of the two restaurants from Crossroads Plaza at Walt Disney World.

Figueroa also said the company has long-term plans to bring additional stores to the Orlando-area. Don Roberto’s is considering Davenport as well as an Orlando site along the north part of Orange Blossom Trail.

Keep an eye on Don Roberto’s social media for updates on the opening timeline.
