Owner Jason Le shared with What Now Orlando on Friday that they had their sights set on a downstairs unit, but due to lacking availability, they had to take what they could get – the upstairs unit.

Now, Le tells us, there is an opening downstairs, and Dochi is moving in. “It’s kind of like a dream come true for us,” said Le.

The donut shop won’t have to close the current location until the new unit is opened. Le shared that April is their general target date for opening the doors.

Dochi is family owned and operated. The company specializes in creating a hybrid between American fried donuts and Japanese rice desserts, which are called mochi. They’ve blended the two names and styles of desserts to arrive at serving “dochis.” The company’s success as led them to open locations in Colorado and Washington state, in addition to their Florida locations.
