Pinspiration Franchisee Austin Patterson will open a second location at 14416 Shoreside Way in Winter Garden in Fall 2021. Construction has begun on the 3,000-square-foot Do-It-Yourself arts and craft studio and wine bar.
Featuring various DIY craft projects and canvas painting, the brand’s business model capitalizes on the popularity of the Pinterest website and crafting craze it sparked. Guests are provided with all of the materials necessary to create something from an ever-changing lineup of predesigned crafts like candle dipping or fairy houses, or to bring their own ideas to life.
Most projects are customizable and walk-ins are welcome. Pinspiration serves beer and wine, as well as offering a meat and cheese menu, s’mores, and chocolate covered strawberries.
Prior to entering the business world, Patterson served in the United States Marine Corp. When his service was complete, he was searching for his next adventure when his father, who has an ear on the franchise market, suggested Pinspiration. According to Patterson, he was one of 8,000 franchise hopefuls who applied from the region. His first Pinspiration location opened in Oviedo March 2020, just as the pandemic was hitting.
“The best thing we did was to hook up with Date Night Orlando,” said Patterson.
Couples can reserve a private Splatter Room at Pinspiration and don coveralls or a poncho to fling, throw, and drip acrylic paint on canvas while they enjoy chocolate-covered strawberries and each other’s company. The concept was so popular that the new location in Hamlin will have two Splatter Rooms, which require a reservation to ensure availability.
Pinspiration also plays host to Girls Nights Out, birthday parties, team and corporate events, bridal showers, and other special occasions.
“A lot of people have been very excited to have us in Oviedo and Hamlin,” said Patterson.
This will be the seventh Pinspiration in Florida, with locations nationally. Patterson said he is eyeing the market to see if Central Florida can support one additional location down the road. Located in the Publix Plaza next to Woof Gang Bakery, Pinspiration will join Home State Brewery, MÖGE TEE, and Ford’s Garage in Hamlin Town Center.
