The name JNICOT comes from the name Jean Nicot, who was a French diplomat and scholar who is best known for being the first person to bring tobacco into France. The latin name for the tobacco plant is Nicotiana tabacum, again named after Jean Nicot for presenting the plant to the king in 1560.

A representative from JNICOT wasn’t available to comment and when exactly the cigar lounge would be opening, but according to our real estate intel the lounge just filed for permits for on-site smoking and alcohol consumption.

The plans of the building suggest that apart from a cigar lounge, the building will also include co-working spaces and conference rooms. The building is set to be built using shipping containers.
